FAQ
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Marion, Virginia and yes I love to travel! However, depending on the location this may require an additional fee. Locations within 20 miles typically require no additional fee.
How do you photograph weddings?
I will meet to plan shots before your wedding day to observe the venue and discuss the best moments and locations for the couple photos, group photos, the ceremony, and lighting. I want to capture the entirety of the event by getting photos of your dress, shoes, invitations, etc.
On your wedding day, I aim to not only capture the ceremony, but also get early shots of the bride and groom beforehand, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the mood, the emotion, and excitement of the day - the parts of this wonderful moment that can sometimes be forgotten or go unnoticed.
Receiving copies or samples of invitations and decorations beforehand are a plus and can guarantee photos of the small details aren't left behind.
When will we get our photos?
You will usually receive an online gallery link with all of your photos within maximum of 3 weeks for most portrait sessions and 8 weeks for weddings and events (oftentimes less, depending on the season and bookings).
You will be able to download all the photos from the gallery and also share them - be sure to choose your favorites!
How many pictures will we receive?
The amount of images can vary depending on the shooting style. I don't rely on a standard set of poses or scripted sessions. Instead, I let my clients drive much of the photo session to include locations, type of shots, and some of the poses, but I guide the shots myself. I truly enjoy client input and it makes the session that much more meaningful. However, since every client and location varies, so does the amount of images. I'll leave a few very rough estimates below.
For a typical 1 hour portrait session, I've delivered anywhere between 20 - 50 fully edited images (this often includes black and white as well as color versions of several images).
For events and casual sessions (life stories) up to 3 hours, I've delivered from 50 - 200 fully edited images.
Weddings can often extend beyond 4 hours so I do block off the entire day to make sure I'm there for you as long as you need. For this reason, you can usually expect a minimum of 100 photos but I have delivered more than 300 fully edited images for past events. I always choose quality rather than quantity to ensure you receive the best photos to tell your story.
